#neon #sarees #lakme fashion week #Masaba Gupta #Manish Malhotra
It popped in first at the Lakme Fashion Week and Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week where it turned heads. But people had a funny feeling about these. Since fashion is evolving and we Indians needed a breakthrough with our Sarees, this one trend overwhelmed me.
I m sure by now we all want to know what i m prattling about, Well its the NEON SAREES.What do i say, I m simply blown away by this newest wrinkle. So i m biased, i feel they are a true revolution in world of Indian fashion.
Neons have ruled over shoes, bags, accessories, dresses, walls, home furnishing, it was time we had them draped on us.
Lakme Fashion Week had Kajol wear a subtle version of the fluorescent craze. Manish Malhotra played it well with a grey saree borderlined with neon green and pink.
The same day, same show Priyanka Chopra went bold with a saree that was dazzling with oozes of lighter green and orange. This saree was teamed with a grey blouse which worked perfectly well with the electric saree.
Quirky? Yes! Reflective? Yes! This is strictly for people like you and me..We love to experiment yet want to be traditional. We like bold and bright yet want to play safe.
This march Masaba Gupta’s collection ‘Every Neon Counts’ for Satya Paul was spectacular. The collection enclosed within itself many other pieces that were Indian wear but my personal favorite were these.
Off ramp also the sarees were a popular trend. Madhuri Dixit was seen wearing one of these on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja.
Even Sonam Kapoor chose to wear one of Masaba Guptas pieces. Her peter pan collar and graceful self did complete justice to the saree.
Since affording a piece by Masaba Gupta or Manish Malhotra is a little too heavy on my wallet,I m already on the lookout for one that i can pocket.
